Bored-again Teenagers Timeless truths for today's youths - Presenting Christianity to the next generation Intercessor extraordinaire
Conversations Conversation 1: "I
was in a train going to a Christian meeting when a voice spoke to me 'when
you return, you will be a new man.' 'But I am a new man!' 'No, you are
a child.' On the first morning of the Convention the preacher spoke on
Ephesians 2:1-6. "You hath he quickened...and hath raised us up...and
made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." He then
asked the question, "Have you been quickened by Christ? Have you
been raised up to sit with Him in heavenly places?" In my heart I
answered, "Yes, I know I have been quickened, but I have not been
raised up with Christ to that place of power". The moment I said
that, I saw the Glorified Christ, and the same voice I had heard in the
train said to me, "Would you like to sit there with Him? There is
a place for you". I saw myself raised up with Him. I knew now what
it meant to be "glorified". All that night I was in the presence
of God and my glorified Saviour. There is nothing in nature refined enough
to describe it." Conversation 2: "God
made it very plain that He would never share my life. I saw the honour
He gave me in offering to indwell me, but there were many things very
dear to me, and I knew He wouldn't keep one of them. The change He would
make was very clear. It meant every bit of my fallen nature was to go
to the cross, and he would bring in His own life and His own nature. It
was unconditional surrender. From the meeting I went out into a field
where I cried my heart out because I had lived in my body for twenty-six
years, and could I easily give it up? I intended to do it, but oh, the
cost! I wept for days. I lost seven pounds in weight, just because I saw
what He was offering me. But I had to give up everything - my love for
money, personal ambition, love of food." Conversation 3: "I spoke at a meeting and was asked to define what I do. I explained that I wasn't what they call a prayer warrior, who would pray for something but would not necessarily expect the answer to come through themselves. It is different for us intercessors. We are responsible to see the prayer through and would never be free until it is. We would go through every length for the prayer to be answered through ourselves. But once a position of intercession has been gained, tested and proved, the intercessor can claim all the blessings." Conversation 4: "The situation was grim. The Nazis' air force was far greater than ours in numbers. We could hear the planes over the college as we prayed and interceded for our brave pilots. I trusted God for our protection during those times and not a bomb touched us, although all around us they fell. The situation in the country because of air raids may become very serious. We have never walked this way before. The peace that our Saviour gives us is not an artificial one, it is so deep that the devil can't disturb it. On September 8th as I led the mid-day service we could hear Nazi planes overhead, yet I knew they would not touch us. We sang songs of victory. There was no need to pray any more for protection, the Holy Ghost came down on us in that meeting and told us of His victory! We prayed hard for London, which was being heavily bombed and, at all times, I knew we had the victory." If
